1. AIRSTAR: Air Caloric Irrigators

The AirStar is used for dry thermal examination of the vestibular function by means of air. The AirStar is the most suitable device for caloric testing where water irrigation cannot be performed due to medical reasons or when no water is available in the testing room.

The AirStar air caloric insuflator sets a new standard with its precise temperature and flow rates. Caloric testing is key in the VNG/ENG test battery and air caloric irrigation is a proven and safe method. With the AirStar, the clinician can feel assured that the stimulus delivered to each ear is exactly the same due to:

--Lighted otoscope head with magnified lens to insure a correct irrigation

--User programmable sound to ensure irrigation time

--Thermal sensor in the otoscope to ensure the delivery of a correct temperature (0.2 C accuracy) and

--Portability: it can be used anywhere to ensure an accurate and stable temperature

The disadvantage of an all air insuflator is that they are not able to give air at a lower temperature than the room temperature, in the best circumstances.

2. COOLSTAR: Water Cooled Air Caloric Irrigators

The CoolStar water-cooled air caloric offers lots of possibilities for caloric tests in the vestibular stimulation: easy to use, high temperature regulation precision and can reach a wide temperature range.

CoolStar has an otoscope handle with integrated light. The otoscope handle allows use of disposable speculum for better hygiene. It also has a LED light, which lights the eardrum without obstructing the air flow and the visibility of the user. The visibility is also improved with a magnifying glass that is integrated in the otoscope handle.

CoolStar and its unique heat exchanger warms or cools the air from 10 to 47°C without influence of the ambient air temperature. CoolStar is the only solution for high ambient temperatures or for testing rooms not equipped by a water inlet and sink.

3. AQUASTAR: Water Caloric Irrigators

The AquaStar water caloric irrigator sets a new standard with it's precise temperature and flow rates.

The AquaStar water caloric irrigator delivers a precisely controlled temperature and flow rate of cool or warm water to evaluate the horizontal semicircular canal during caloric testing. In less than a minute after turning on the AquaStar, the temperature stabilizes at the desired setting indicated on a digital display. The quick disconnect fittings feature make it easy to connect or disconnect the AquaStar from most faucets.

Water Caloric Requirements

The AquaStar Water Caloric Irrigator must be connected to a sink in the testing office for proper operation.

Note: the AquaStar irrigator connection hoses require the unit to be approximately eight feet from the sink.
